What is ExSpiritus?
Ex Spiritus—Latin for “from the Spirit”—is a one-day Catholic men’s retreat created to help men encounter the Holy Spirit in a deeper way and be renewed for the life they’ve been entrusted to lead.
Many men spend their lives pouring themselves out for others—family, work, parish, responsibilities—without taking time to be filled themselves.
Ex Spiritus is an opportunity to pause and be strengthened.
Through prayer, teaching, worship, and fraternity, the retreat invites men to open themselves to the work of the Holy Spirit and leave equipped to live with greater clarity, courage, and conviction.

Brothers Beside Our Priest,
United in the Sacred Heart of Jesus
As our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States, Catholics across the country are reflecting on the blessings and responsibilities of freedom. Inspired by the U.S. Bishops' invitation to renew our commitment to faith, civic responsibility, and the common good, this year's ExSpiritus theme looks to the source of authentic freedom: the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
"Brothers Beside Our Priests, Hearts United in the Sacred Heart of Jesus" is a call for Catholic men to stand alongside their priests in the mission of the Church and to unite their hearts more deeply to Christ. In a culture that often promotes independence and self-reliance, the Sacred Heart reminds us that true freedom is found not in living for ourselves, but in surrendering our lives to God and serving others in love.
At ExSpiritus, we will explore what it means to be men whose hearts are transformed by Christ—men who support their priests, strengthen their parishes, lead their families, and help renew the Church and society. As we mark 250 years of our nation’s history, we are reminded that the future of both the Church and our country depends on men willing to answer Christ's call to holiness, brotherhood, and mission.
